About Us

Greetings

Established by founding partner Shinichiro Abe, the Firm first opened its doors in January of 2016. Prior to that, Mr. Abe established his career first at small to mid-sized domestic firms then moving on to large international firms, including Baker & McKenzie in Tokyo and the law firm formerly known as Bingham McCutchen Murase. Mr. Abe’s unique experience also includes time as vice president for Prudential Life Insurance Co., Ltd. headquartered in the U.S.A.. With decades of experience behind him, Mr. Abe’s vision was to establish a new kind of boutique firm that could deliver superior expertise and at the same time be agile in responding to the needs of business.

In keeping with this vision, the Firm is committed to:

1. Providing the highest quality of legal services with speed and efficiency.

We will provide the highest quality of legal service with meticulous care and speed, maximizing our advantage as a small firm of leading attorneys. All of the Firm’s partners have LL.M. degrees from U.S. law schools and include international experience as a part of their respective careers. We are attuned the needs of international business and as a general rule will respond to client inquiries within 24 hours. We will devote the attention to identify the specific needs of a client and provide solutions-oriented, effective advice. As a small-sized firm, we are also able to streamline work and provide cost-effective service.

2. Drawing on our relationships with professionals in Japan and across the globe as well as making effective use of technology.

The challenges faced by businesses today are made increasingly complicated by the ever-changing business environment and the fast pace of technological advancements. At the Firm, we believe that the law is only one piece to analyzing a problem encountered by business and solutions cannot be derived simply by referring to the law. As such, our approach is to collaborate with various specialists (including, tax attorneys, patent attorneys, real estate appraisers) and professional firms such as accounting firms, audit firms and consulting firms as necessary to come up with an integrated business-oriented solution. We have adopted the latest in technological tools as well as video/internet conferencing capabilities which enable us to respond to client needs with speed as well as readily connect with the many specialists and professionals with which the Firm has cultivated strong relationships.

3. Continuing to grow by giving.

As the world around us continues to change rapidly, it is essential for attorneys to seek out rather than shy away from new experiences and ideas. New experiences give an attorney the opportunity to learn, grow and become more attuned trends. We proactively participate in and help organize various seminars and conferences in Japan and internationally where different specialists and organizations may gather and exchange ideas. We also proactively engage in pro bono work as well as giving our time to other volunteer and civic activities.  Some of these activities include efforts to support victims of earthquakes, working with and developing goodwill with government in Japan and other countries of the world as well as supporting education by giving our time as lecturers, speakers or training providers to various universities and other educational institutions as well as international organizations.
